New Player Guide

Welcome to Next RP! This guide will walk you through the basics of getting settled on the server — from your first character to finding a job and making connections.

Your Character

Next RP uses a persistent character system. Your character has a name, a bank account, a job, and a history — all of which persist between sessions. Treat your character as a real person living in the world.

• Choose a realistic name (no meme names or celebrity names)
• Build a backstory — where are they from? What do they do?
• Your character's knowledge is limited to what they've experienced in-character

Money & Economy

You start with a small amount of cash. The best way to get on your feet is through legitimate employment. Visit the job centre in the city to browse available starter jobs. Once you have income, you can save up for a vehicle, property, and more.

Starter Jobs

• Delivery Driver — Transport packages around the city
• Garbage Collector — Pick up rubbish on designated routes
• Fisherman — Head to the coast and sell your catch
• Miner — Mine ore in the mountains and sell at the depot
• Trucker — Haul freight between warehouses

Interacting With Others

Roleplay is a collaborative experience. Engage with others respectfully, stay in character, and remember that behind every character is a real person. The best stories come from unexpected encounters and building genuine in-character relationships.
